Alkies Lapas, D.O.

In any service environment, the people make the difference. Meet Parkwood Open Imaging’s Medical Director, Dr. Alkies Lapas:

  • Dr. Lapas received his Doctorate of Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. He completed his Radiology Residency at Cooper University Hospital, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University’s Teaching Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.
  • Following his residency, Dr. Lapas was recruited to Yale University, Yale School of Medicine where he pursued a subspecialty fellowship in Neuroradiology, receiving expertise training in brain and spine, as well as head and neck imaging.
  • While at Yale, Dr. Lapas was appointed and served as Chief Fellow of the Department of Radiology, Division of Neuroradiology and was subsequently credentialed by Yale-New Haven Hospital as an attending radiologist in the departments of Neuroradiology and Emergency Medicine.
  • As Medical Director for Parkwood Open Imaging, Dr. Lapas is responsible for the clinical oversight of the diagnostic imaging center, including quality assurance, protocol development and direct management of the radiology staff. Dr. Lapas’ leadership is evident through his commitment to providing quality diagnostic imaging services with the patient’s dignity, comfort, and peace of mind as paramount considerations.
  • Prior to his role as Medical Director of Parkwood Open Imaging, Alkies was responsible for the successful start up of Contemporary Diagnostic Imaging©, a New Jersey-based teleradiology group responsible for the diagnostic reporting of nationwide outpatient imaging facilities, local private practices, and hospitals, as well as clinical research units of global pharmaceutical companies. CDI’s success was based upon several key strengths that Dr. Lapas brings to Parkwood Open Imaging: strategic planning, market knowledge, management expertise, clinical excellence and Gold Standard service and implementation
  • Dr. Lapas is currently Adjunct Clinical Instructor of Neuroradiology at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and actively participates in the training of medical students and diagnostic radiology residents. Dr. Lapas has particular interest in traumatic spine and brain imaging and provides expert consult to orthopedic surgeons and neurologists specializing in traumatic spine and brain injury. In addition to being Yale Certified in Neuroradiology, Dr. Lapas holds active medical licenses in multiple states. In 2015, he was awarded the CDI Founders Award in recognition for his commitment to patient care, vision and leadership.

Jayson A. Lord, MD

Dr. Lord received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1991. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida in 1995, and completed his diagnostic radiology residency in 1999 through the University of South Florida, College of Medicine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and National Board of Medical Examiners.  He is also a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American College of Radiology, the American Society of Spinal Radiology, and past member of the Society of Cardiovascular/Interventional Radiology.  Dr. Lord has the ACR Proficiency of Musculoskeletal Radiology certificate.  Dr. Lord is licensed in Florida, Georgia, Colorado, Mississippi, Michigan, Nebraska, and New Mexico.  His Nevada and Arizona licenses are pending.
